We have a tradition in Judaism that the horn of the ram of the binding of Isaac is the horn (shofar) blown on Rosh Hashana—and that’s possibly why we read this portion on this holy day, and also that the horn of the ram at the binding was also the shofar blown at the giving of the Torah at Sinai. Reuse, reduce, recycle!
